Make sure that you get a room with a view. Some of the rooms have only a window leading to a dark patio without fresh air or anything.

Big room (we had a suite), nice old building attractively renovated in parts, sofa in room.

This hotel is priced top of the range for Granada. We had the best room they could offer as they had let the room we had originally booked and upgraded us when we arrived. Despite this: no wifi in room; rationed hot water that ran cold; no iron, kettle or hairdryer in room. Faux designer look masking poor amenities and non existent services. Poor attitude of staff. We were told when we arrived we could make tea but not coffee in the reception area. On the second day the tea making facilities were removed. No foreign channels on TV. No telephone in room. Shire Hotel really didn't.

The hotel is in a fabulous location in Granada within walking distance to the Al Hambra and lots of nice restaurants and bars. The room we had was huge and very well equipped, clean and very stylish. A nice touch of providing an espresso machine in reception that you can help yourself to. The girls on reception were also incredibly helpful and there are umbrellas you can borrow just in case which is also a nice touch. The hotel is an old building with lots of original features like beuatiful wooden ceilings, but has modern interiors that are very sleek and stylish - a nice combination. We would go back again in a heatrbeat.

I should have contacted the hotel direct for directions as we got very lost. Ensure you have a good map as the directions you get from googlemaps or something similar send you down roads you cannot drive down so ensure you have a full street map of Granada and watch out for the roads that cars are not premitted on!

Gorgeous Place. Well designed and renovated. Beautiful room, though could use a bit more art on the walls.

No one at this hotel spoke English, but it is worth the stay. It is a bit hard to find, since the sign on the building is almost non-exstant. There is no parking or even standing right in front of the hotel. If felt like a secret hideaway. There are also no bathtubs, only showers. We had a baby, who only takes baths, but otherwise, we loved it.

hotel in a terrible narrow road side, cannot park car for picking up suitcase even in 1 minute, although many strange people around the area. The hotel put us in wrong room, after complient, they return us to a nice suite which we original booked. No hairdryer, no cup in the room, you need to go to the lobby for everying, but morning staff (a senior elegance man should be the owner) could not speak english. You cannot wear sacks and walk on the floor in the room, it will become black.

Great central location in Granada city centre, but still a very quiet area - easy 15 min walk to the Alhambra and all the sites.

Hot water ran out too quickly.

Given twin beds when a double was asked for. Parking is a nightmare. Had a room downstairs next to reception, booked the hotel for the ambiance which didnt happen,

Small size hotel and helpful staff. All very new. Good location.

No breakfast facilities, but this will change when a restaurant is going to open on the ground floor over the next few months. Shower box didn't have something to place the gel or shampoo on, nor hair dryer. My window looked over the patio, so it was pretty dark.

It is a pseudo hotel. Narrow bed. Very dark.

The room was perfect - large, spotlessly clean with a lovely shower in the ensuite area. Quiet at night but close to a selection of restaurants. The Alhambra Palace is a lovely, if uphill, walk away and other attractions are easily walkable so very convenient in that respect. The staff were helpful, available 24 hours a day. Would stay here again, definitely.

The location is a mixed blessing, close to the Alhambra Palace but you can't easily drive directly to the hotel in your own car. So, if you've hired a car, you need to park in one of the City car parks (about 20 Euros a day) and then walk with your cases (about ten minutes) or jump in a taxi. This, of course, is true of all the hotels in the area so don't let this put you off this hotel if you want to be in easy walking distance of the Alhambra and the lovely city cathedral - also worth a visit - but just worth knowing in advance.

The hotel is in a very old Moorish house with inner courtyard, extremly impresive. If you have the chance for a room with front view is great: rooms very spacious, view direct to Alhambra, great confort. Even that the house is old, everything inside is refurbished with great taste. The view of Alhambra from the windows is excelent. Great location and good price, free wifi.

Due to the fact the buildiing is old, the water is heated by boiler, thus you can have hot water only for 30 min, afterwards you have to wait another 30 for the water to heat again. Breakfast was very poor for 10euro. If you come by car, there's a big problem with parking close by.

It's position in Albayzin, Granada, was perfect. Our Deluxe Room with 2 balconies looking onto the Alhambra Palace was enchanting. Couldn't be better!
